LinkedIn Post Formatterby IBEAN

Why this tool exists

The engineering story behind the formatter.

A community declaration by Krishnavadan Raval, Founder, IBEAN.CO.

“Formatting shouldn't be harder than writing the idea.”

For a long time, whenever I prepared posts about enterprise software architecture, legacy modernisation and applied AI, the hardest part was never the idea or the technical substance.

It was getting LinkedIn to respect the formatting.

I tried everything: typing in Markdown, experimenting with Rich Text Format clipboards, writing in Apple Notes or Google Docs, tweaking HTML snippets. Every attempt hit the same wall. LinkedIn either displayed raw asterisks like **bold** or silently collapsed carefully planned paragraph breaks into dense, unreadable walls of text.

The architectural path

Fixing it reliably was not straightforward. It meant studying how LinkedIn's composer treats pasted text, how it mutates blocks, and how Unicode characters behave. That research pointed to three ideas:

Mathematical Unicode

Unicode's mathematical sans-serif letters give native-looking bold and italic that renders on mobile and desktop, with no Markdown artefacts.

An invisible spacer

A blank Braille character (U+2800) on empty lines stops LinkedIn's editor from stripping your paragraph gaps when you paste.

Everything local

All the work happens in your browser, so your drafts are never uploaded or stored. Confidential ideas stay confidential.

A two-second workflow

The result: hours of fiddling become paste, one click, copy.

I built this tool to turn formatting frustration into a two-second workflow. It is not a commercial product. It is my contribution to the founders, architects, consultants and creators who want to share what they know without fighting an editor.
