Video chapters

Quick start: 4 steps

New here? This is all you need to publish a well-formatted post. The chapters below explain each feature in detail.

  1. 1

    Paste your draft

Paste text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Word or Notes into the editor. Or click Load Sample to try it.

  2. 2

    Format & Polish

Click Format & Polish Post (or press Ctrl+Enter). Bullets, spacing, Markdown and hashtags are cleaned in one go.

  3. 3

    Check the preview

Look at the Feed Simulator on the right. Switch to Mobile view, because most people read on their phone.

  4. 4

    Copy and post

Click Copy for LinkedIn, open LinkedIn, click Start a post and press Ctrl+V.

The workspace at a glance

Know where everything is.

The tool has one screen. Your draft goes in on the left, and the preview of the finished LinkedIn post updates live on the right. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

  1. 1 - Workflow presets. One-click formatting styles for different kinds of posts (chapter 4).
  2. 2 - Formatting toolbar. Bold, italic, lists, line breaks, emojis, hooks, hashtags, spacing, Diff and Export.
  3. 3 - Draft editor. Paste or write your post here. It also has Undo, Redo, Load Sample and Clear.
  4. 4 - Feed Simulator. A live preview that looks like a LinkedIn post, with desktop and mobile views.
  5. 5 - Statistics bar. Characters against the 3,000 limit, words, paragraphs, hashtags, readability and read time.
  6. 6 - Copy bar. Format & Polish, Copy Plain Text, Copy for LinkedIn and Open Feed.
The six areas of the workspace.

Paste your draft and fix Markdown

Get your text in and fix Markdown symbols.

LinkedIn does not understand Markdown, so symbols like **bold** and # would show up literally in your post. The tool spots them and converts them for you.

  1. Click Load Sample to see ready-made posts: a creator story, an AI draft with raw Markdown, a leadership framework, a case study and a Hindi/Gujarati example.
  2. Pick Multilingual Preservation to see that Hindi, Gujarati and other scripts are kept exactly as written.
  3. Click the trash icon (Clear input) to empty the editor. You can always get your text back with Undo.
  4. Paste your own draft with Ctrl+V. If it contains Markdown, an amber Markdown detected banner appears and lists what it found.
  5. Click Convert Markdown. Bold, italic, headings, bullet lists, inline code, links and blockquotes become clean LinkedIn text. Choose Keep Original to leave your text as it is.
Load Sample offers five ready-made posts.
Hindi and Gujarati are preserved exactly as typed.
The Markdown banner shows what was found.
After converting, the preview shows real bold and clean bullets.

Format & Polish in one click

One click for a post that is ready to publish.

Format & Polish Post runs the whole clean-up pipeline. It restructures your text but never rewrites your words.

  1. Click Format & Polish Post in the bottom bar, or press Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on Mac).
  2. The tool cleans the text, converts Markdown, normalizes bullets and numbering, applies your spacing mode and moves hashtags to the bottom.
  3. A green message confirms it, and the preview updates. Use Undo if you do not like the result.
After Format & Polish, the post is clean and the preview matches.

Workflow presets

Re-format your post for a goal with one click.

Presets are ready-made formatting recipes. Clicking one immediately re-formats your current text and also sets the spacing, bullet style and hashtag position used by later actions.

  1. Click a preset in the Workflow Presets bar. The active one is highlighted.
  2. Try another one to compare. Each click re-formats your text, so use Undo to step back.

Bold, italic and other text styles

Add bold, italic and more, even though LinkedIn has no formatting buttons.

LinkedIn has no native bold or italic. The tool swaps your letters for look-alike Unicode characters that LinkedIn displays everywhere. Select some text, then pick a style.

  1. Select text in the editor. A floating toolbar appears right above it. Click a style, or use the main toolbar.
  2. H (Heading): with nothing selected it makes your first line a bold headline. With text selected it makes the selection bold capitals.
  3. Use Ctrl+B for bold and Ctrl+I for italic without leaving the keyboard.
  4. With nothing selected, a style button inserts a small sample (such as "Bold Text") at your cursor so you can see how it looks.
  5. To remove all styling, click the T button (Revert to plain text) in the toolbar.
Select text and the floating toolbar appears.

Bullets and numbered lists

Clean bullets and numbering.

Turn plain lines into bullets or numbers, and re-style them any time.

  1. Click the list button to put a bullet in front of every line (or only the selected lines). Click it again to take the bullets off.
  2. Click the small arrow next to it to choose from 11 styles: classic (• ▪), modern (→ ▸ ✦ ✓) and emoji (⚡ 📌 🔹 👉 ✅).
  3. Click the numbered list button to number the lines 1. 2. 3.. It also replaces existing bullets or old numbers.
Eleven bullet styles to choose from.

Line breaks and spacing

Make sure your paragraphs survive LinkedIn.

LinkedIn squashes single line breaks together and can collapse blank lines. These tools keep your layout intact.

  1. If your text has three or more lines with no blank lines, the preview shows a blue Single line breaks detected note. Click Add LinkedIn Line Breaks, or use Add Line Breaks in the toolbar, to give every line its own paragraph.
  2. Choose a spacing mode in the toolbar: Compact keeps lines tight, Standard uses one blank line between paragraphs, Spacious spreads everything out.
  3. Click the paragraph (¶) icon to clean extra blank lines and trailing spaces.
  4. If one block of text is longer than 500 characters, a Smart Break button appears in the statistics bar. Click it to split the block into short, scannable paragraphs.
The tool notices when single line breaks would collapse.
After Add Line Breaks, every line is its own paragraph.
Compact, Standard and Spacious spacing.
Smart Break appears for text blocks over 500 characters.

Emojis, separators, hooks and CTAs

Emojis, dividers, openers and closers.

These pop-ups insert ready-made pieces into your post. They never write or change your claims.

  1. Emoji picker (smile icon): browse categories such as Business & Leadership or Technology & AI, and click an emoji to insert it at your cursor. Typing in the search box shows all emojis in one list.
  2. At the bottom of the picker, 🚀 Headline adds a rocket to your first line and ✅ Bullets turns your bullets into green check marks.
  3. Separators (dash icon): insert a Solid Line, Thick Bar, Three Dots, Spaced Dots, Sparkles or Dashed Line to divide sections.
  4. Hook & CTA: Opening Hooks are proven first lines. Use Insert at Top and replace the [brackets] with your own words.
  5. Switch to Closing CTAs for ready-made questions such as "What would you add?", then Insert at Bottom.

Hashtag manager

Create, clean and place hashtags.

The hashtag manager turns plain keywords into proper #CamelCase tags and keeps them tidy at the bottom of your post.

  1. Click the # button in the toolbar.
  2. Type keywords such as product management, startup growth. The tool generates #ProductManagement #StartupGrowth.
  3. Click Insert Hashtags at Bottom of Post.
  4. Under 1-Click Verified Niche Hashtags, click any tag from Tech & AI, Startups & Business, or Product & Growth to add it.
  5. In Existing Hashtags in Post, use Move to Bottom, #CamelCase (capitalizes each word, which also helps screen readers) or Remove All.
Keywords become #CamelCase hashtags.
Existing hashtags, with a warning when there are more than five.

Live feed preview

See your post exactly as readers will.

The Feed Simulator is a live preview that follows your text as you type. Use it to check spacing, line breaks and where the "see more" cut happens.

  1. Switch between Desktop and Mobile using the two icons at the top right of the preview.
  2. Click Full View to turn on Folded mode. This shows only the first lines, like LinkedIn does, followed by …see more. The cut is after 5 lines on desktop and 3 lines on mobile.
  3. Click + Add Image to preview your post with a picture. Choose 1.91:1 (landscape), 1:1 (square) or 4:5 (portrait). Use the ✕ to remove it.
  4. Click your name or the pencil icon to customize the preview author: name, headline, follower count and post time. Click Apply to Preview.
  5. Click Like to try the reaction bar. The other buttons are decorative.

Hook score

Make the first line earn the click.

Most readers decide in the first line whether to click …see more. Hook Score rates that first line from 0 to 100 and tells you how to improve it.

  1. Click the Hook Score badge at the top of the preview to open the analyzer.
  2. Read the metrics (length, line break gap, number or metric, curiosity trigger) and the Tactical Recommendations.
  3. Edit your first line and watch the score update live.
A weak hook: generic and no number.
A stronger hook scores much higher.

Character limit and readability

Stay inside the limit and keep it readable.

The statistics bar updates as you type.

  1. Characters are counted against LinkedIn's 3,000-character limit, with the number remaining. The bar turns amber from 2,500 and red above 3,000, showing how many characters to cut.
  2. You also see words, paragraphs, lines, hashtags and links, plus an estimated read time.
  3. Readability shows a school grade (Flesch-Kincaid). Grades 6-8 are labelled Ideal and easiest for most readers.
  4. Compactness shows how much of your text uses styled Unicode letters. Up to 15% is Safe and up to 25% is Moderate. Above that the bar warns you.
A normal post.
Approaching 3,000 characters: amber.
Over the limit: red, with the number to cut.

Compare, revert, export and undo

Compare, undo, revert and export.

Safety nets and handy extras.

  1. Diff opens a side-by-side comparison of your original draft and the formatted post, with character and line counts. Copy Formatted copies the result.
  2. Revert to plain text (the T icon) turns all styled Unicode characters back into normal letters.
  3. Undo (Ctrl+Z) and Redo (Ctrl+Shift+Z) are above the editor. They remember about the last 40 changes.
  4. Export (download icon) saves your post as linkedin-post.txt or linkedin-post.md. The file is created on your own device.
  5. Clear (trash icon) empties the editor. Undo restores it.
Before and After comparison.
Export as .txt or .md.

Copy for LinkedIn

Get it into LinkedIn with the formatting intact.

The last step. Use the right copy button for the job.

  1. Copy for LinkedIn copies your post with invisible spacer characters on the blank lines, so LinkedIn keeps your paragraph breaks. The button turns green and says Copied for LinkedIn!.
  2. Copy Plain Text copies without any Unicode styling (bold becomes normal letters). Use it where fancy characters are not wanted, such as email subject lines or tools that cannot show them.
  3. Open Feed opens LinkedIn in a new tab.
  4. In LinkedIn, click Start a post, then paste with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on Mac). Check the result and click Post.
Copied! The button turns green.
Open Feed takes you to LinkedIn.

Keyboard shortcuts

Work without lifting your hands from the keyboard.

Press Ctrl+K any time (or click Shortcuts) to see this list. On a Mac, use ⌘ instead of Ctrl.

Theme, Safe Mode and privacy

Theme, Safe Mode, privacy and where to find help.

A few settings in the top bar.

  1. Theme: click the sun/moon button to switch between light and dark. Your choice is remembered on this device. This is the only thing the tool stores.
  2. Safe Mode (on by default) shows a LinkedIn safety check note when your post contains anything LinkedIn would display literally: leftover Markdown symbols, Markdown link syntax or backticks. Click Safe Mode to switch it off.
  3. Zero-Storage Privacy explains the privacy promise: no backend, no tracking, no analytics, no uploads. Everything is processed in your browser.
  4. How to Use opens this guide in a new tab, so you never lose your draft.

The interactive guided tour

Learn the tool on the real screen, step by step.

The guided tour is an interactive walk-through built into the tool. It highlights each part of the screen and explains what it does, so you can learn by looking at the real thing.

  1. Click Take the tour in the top bar (the compass icon on smaller screens), or in the footer. First-time visitors also see a small invitation in the corner.
  2. The screen dims and one area is highlighted with a short explanation. If your editor is empty, a sample post is loaded so every feature has something to show.
  3. Click Next, or press →. Click Back, or press ←, to review a step. The dots show how far along you are.
  4. Click Skip tour or press Esc to leave at any time. At the end, click Finish.

Best practices for better LinkedIn posts

  1. Put your strongest idea in the first line and check the Hook Score.
  2. Keep paragraphs to 1-2 sentences and leave a blank line between them.
  3. Use styling for a headline and a few key phrases, not whole paragraphs.
  4. Finish with a question or call to action so readers know how to respond.
  5. Use 3-5 hashtags at the bottom.
  6. Preview in Mobile view, then do a last check in LinkedIn before posting.
  7. Aim for a readability grade around 6-8.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Is it really free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it is free and there is no sign-up, no limit and no payment.

Does it send my post anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. There is no backend, no analytics and no tracking. The only thing stored on your device is your light/dark theme choice.

Does it use AI?

No. It uses fixed formatting rules, so the same input always gives the same output, and your words are never changed or invented.

Why does my bold text look different on LinkedIn or on another device?

Bold and italic here are special Unicode characters, not real formatting. They display on current LinkedIn apps, but they can look slightly different with some fonts, and very old devices may show empty boxes.

Why do I see odd letters when I paste into email or a document?

Those apps may not support the styled characters. Use Copy Plain Text for normal letters.

Why did italic not work on my bold text?

Styles do not stack. Use the BI button for bold and italic together, or click Revert to plain text first.

Why are my line breaks still collapsing?

Use Copy for LinkedIn, not Copy Plain Text, because only that one adds the invisible spacers. Also check the Add Line Breaks note in the preview.

Why does the compactness label say "Spam Risk"?

Too much styled text makes a post harder to read, and screen readers handle it poorly. The label is a precaution in this tool, so style less and the label goes back to Safe.

Do Hindi, Gujarati and other languages work?

Yes. Other scripts and emojis are kept exactly as you typed them. Only English letters and digits can be styled.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. On a narrow screen you get two tabs, Draft Editor and Live Feed Preview.

I reloaded and lost my post.

Nothing is stored, by design. Use Export to save a .txt or .md copy of anything you want to keep.

Is it affiliated with LinkedIn?

No. It is an independent, free community tool from IBEAN. LinkedIn is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation.

Ready to try it?

Open the tool in a new tab and follow along. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
